Staci saw my newborn pictures on my website and contacted me with her story of her boy rainbow baby in February. Her due date was coming up soon. I was very excited to meet her and her newborn baby, especially after we found out that she teaches at the same school my kids go to.
COVID
Then COVID struck and no one knew what to do. Such an uncertain time for small businesses like my photography studio. Concerns about safety, spreading the illness, and being able to find products to clean the space shut down many studio owners like me all over the country. So, we waited a little while for his boy rainbow baby session and I am stoked about how it turned out.
Studio Precautions
Of course, I took a lot of precautions for this boy rainbow baby. I now go in the studio very early to set up and deep clean the photo space. In addition, I stagger the clients – I don’t do two sessions in a day anymore. I ask clients to take off their shoes and wash their hands. Lastly, I ask the parents to wear masks unless they are in the pictures. How the World has changed. Yes, it makes me sad, and I am sure you are sad too but we’re in this together. I am very hopeful that it will get better very soon! <3
Rainbow Babies
Wouldn’t you agree that a rainbow baby is the epitome of hope, perseverance, and positive outcomes? Not giving up during the storm of a loss of a child, knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and goodness is bound to happen, facing fears of losing another one, challenging the emptiness inside our bodies, facing fears head on no matter the outcome…. rainbow babies will always have a special place in my heart! I went through a very early loss and I have seen many friends go through it as well and I am thankful that it is becoming a topic that we can all talk about more openly.
